What I Bought or Ended Up With!?!

Excuse if this turns into rambling! :( When I joined back in Feb of this year one of if not the first question I tossed out to the great people of xtremods was what order to buy items for the "uber" system. Received good advise and for the most part followed it, only changed my mind on mobo and ram. :D
For the "main" items, here is what I ended up with, what you think?

Mobo - Abit NF7-S rev 2
Sound - on board
CPU - AMD 2500+ Barton
HSF - Swiftake 462+ w/ fan undecided
Graphics - Tyan 9700 Pro
RAM - 2 x 256 TwinMOS PC3700
CD-RW - TDK 48x24x48x
DVD/CD-R - Liteon 16x / 40x
PSU - Enermax 465 (450W)
OS - XP Pro w/SP1
HDD - 120Mg Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 (8mg buffer)*
Case - Antec 1200X

The main thing lacking is TIME TO PUT IT TOGETHER!!:( :rolleyes: ;)

I have to admit when I bought all my parts back in june I took a day off and did my setup! Which BTW took 3 days! :( Glad I took off on a friday!
Jedi, when you go to setup XP read all the posts I made and everyone else made about the minor stuff that will hold you up!
I'll give one piece of advice up front, when you go to partition, format and load your OS. If it gives you any trouble either pull the jumper off your HDD or put it on Cable Select! The mobo's and other hardware are getting so smart nowadays that they dont really need you to set the jumpers anymore...took me 1 1/2 daqys to find that out!!!! Learned my lesson the hard way!

BTW...what did you do with the ASUS mobo you had that your not gonna use?

Good catch on the HDD camero! That actually was my last "big" item purchased.

The A7N8X Dx rev 1.04 is sitting in the box waiting to see what a co-worker wants to do. If interested pm me.:eek:
