my first case mod... Having seen some of yours, though, I'm definately going to try again.
This one's a basic gateway case, I removed the front panel cos I liked the grill effect. Painted the interior case flat black and installed 4 fans. Sprayed the entire case camel yellow to give it that sportscar look, and then fashioned some extra bits from things lying around, including some nice buttons made from old speaker dials, a fin type thingy from an old case panel, a microlab label from a speaker set and a USB extension cover panel made from scratch. The design on the front is my own, printed out and pritt-stuck. Spent a couple of days progressively filling and sanding the holes in the front where the clips for the fron panel were. used tamiya model putty (not a good idea - takes ages to dry). Spent ages on the power LED and button wires - the LEDS are not visible, but they shine from under the fin on the front (below the quad grills). The reset button is cunningly placed behind the center of the quad grills, so you have to reach behind with a finger to press ![]() Overall Im proud of my new baby Comments? Cheers ![]() next step is to paint the drives and cut a nice hole in the side. Wish me luck!

Nice! It's obvious you put alot of care and patience into the work. Wish I had that kind of patience. You make yellow look good.

Nice case, but you need to paint those drives. Just pop the front bezals off the drives and paint them (sand, prime and paint of corse). The quality of the paint of the rest of the case looks very nice and I like the black grill in front.

The black grille looks goood against the yellow.
As for the drives, either pop the fronts off them and paint them yellow (with black buttons?) to match the rest of the case, or if you still have some drive covers, you could stealth them?? Very nice work BTW!!

Cool man! nice case, that yellow reminds me ofnthis daycare center i used to go to! a local psychologist reckoned it was the colour of the walls(mad yellow) that was making the kid's all go hyperactive, but i'll bet it was just the kids being hypersctive for no reason. after all when you a kid who needs a reson for anything?
Slammin color then, let me know if its been makin you hyper! |
