The application describes how face-recognition webcams and CAPTCHAs can be used in schools to ensure that computer users are paying attention to ads, and the recourse of 'disabling or even repossessing the computer' if they are not."

this raises the question,"Are children in school to become consumers and watch ads all day, or are they there for an education?"

That sounds like Microsoft, the only question is, will they ever apply it to something? Survey says no, and it is just another patent that if anyone were to try to do something like that they get money. You have to remember, the patents mean they have licences, and if they licence something they gat a cut of the profits.
